This profile was made at www.wonderbackgrounds.com Born in Sweden and now a resident of the US, Dre is the product of a very famous musical family. Her parents graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm Sweden, her father was honored with a postage stamp, and the family toured in churches across the world for most of her childhood. But her search for her own musical identity took her down many roads, from being part of a pop group in LA to experimenting with Blues and Rock. Dre's Rude Awakening's sound has been described as Norah Jones meets Sheryl Crow. It's also been called "Hard Folk" music with Dre being labeled a bit of an activist as she tackles subjects in her lyrics that not many people want to touch, to raise awareness--but with a very accessible sound. Dre is joined by Shane Theriot (best known for his work with Boz Scaggs and the Neville Brothers) on guitar, the incredible Johnny Neel ..boards, who played with the Allman Brothers for many years...the three of them are surrounded by the amazing Travelin McCoury's (Ronnie McCoury, Rob McCoury, Jason Carter and Alan Bartram).
